Welcome to Henley Hand Dyed
My hand dyeing journey began in 2013, but my love of wool comes from my farming heritage. My family are wheat and sheep farmers from the South Western Slopes and Plains of New South Wales, Australia.
Henley Hand Dyed is a one of a kind brand. Dyed in small batches, which makes each skein unique. The non superwashed wool is bought straight from the farmers. There's a growing number of farmers that are taking control of their own clip. Finding ethical and sustainable farming practices, taking care of the land, the wildlife and their sheep. This wool is cleaned in Victoria, then sent to mills in Australia and New Zealand. I have the utmost respect for these farmers and I’m proud to support them.
It's been said of me that my, “Adventurous spirit and whimsical view of life, brings delight. This translate to the unique and ever evolving palate of colourways." I love celebrating life, in all its exciting variety. The multitude of colours of our ancient and diverse lands, give endless inspiration. I respect these lands and it's First People, it feeds my soul and is expressed in the colours I dye.
My passion for colour, is soaked into every fibre of my small batch yarn. My hope is those whom crochet, cross stitch, felt, knit, spin and weave with my wool, will find joy, inspiration and give their projects the uniqueness that each of us is.
